Filipino gangster who became known as the "Hari ng Tondo," or Kingpin of Tondo, during the late 1940s and early 1950s. His life was the inspiration for several films, including the 1961 movie "Asiong Salonga" and the 2011 biographical crime film "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story."

Before fame

He had become involved with law enforcement by the mid-1940s and was arrested in January 1946.

Trivia

He was sometimes referred to as the "Robin Hood of Tondo" because some local residents viewed him as a hero, despite his criminal reputation. Siong was considered one of the Philippines' public enemies where he reigned and dominated Manila's then-known mob district, Tondo, for several years.

He was married to Fidela Fernandez and had a son named Vladhemer "Not" Pagapong.
