Before Fame

He grew up watching and later singing in his local church's adult male choir. In Houston, Texas, he worked for Johnson & Johnson while singing and songwriting for Windsor Village United Methodist Church's Sunday services.


He released his first album in 2009 and returned in 2012 with his album So Proud, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Gospel Albums chart.

Family Life

He was born and raised near Chicago in Bellwood, Illinois. Years after graduating from the University of Illinois, he relocated to Houston.
