One of the few female web entrepreneurs, she founded the photo-sharing site Flickr and collective decision-making site Hunch.
She graduated Vassar College in 1991 when most of the famed tech founders were still in grade school.
Her photo-sharing website was acquired by Yahoo! for somewhere close to $30 million.
She married Stewart Butterfield, the co-founder of Flckr. They had one daughter together and divorced shortly afterwards.
