He won back-to-back championships racing sports cars in the Grand Am series and also raced stock cars in the NASCAR Busch series in 2003.
He enrolled in the Jim Russell School to hone his driving skills for competition.
He won Grand-Am Series championships in 2001 and 2002.
He grew up in Kirkland, Washington.
He and Randy LaJoie both competed in the Busch Series under Jay Robinson Racing company.
