He was married to Shirley Jordan, the owner of and designer at Clothing Manufacturing Corporation, but remarried Sandy Jordan, who was not only a graphic artist but also a board member of the Jazz Foundation of America.
During the 1964 tour, Jordan played in the Charles Mingus Sextet.
