Before fame
He played college basketball at Pasadena City College during the 2003-2004 season before transferring to Fullerton College and then Iowa State University. He went undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft, then played professional basketball overseas for approximately eight years including time with DniproAzot in Ukraine. He began posting fitness content publicly online around 2016. He debuted WHINE & W3RK in September 2021 in Dallas, Texas after originally planning to attend a fitness event that was canceled. He began touring WHINE & W3RK across the United States before expanding into Europe.
Trivia
He earned California Junior College Player of the Year honors and first-team Junior College All-America recognition in 2006. He has run multiple Whine & W3rk fitness camps and tours. He launched a sock line called MacW3rk Socks in 2018. He expanded into music under the name MacW3rk and released the single "Whine & W3rk" in 2024 as well as "Walk It (feat. A-Bangs)" in 2024 and "Carnival" in January 2025.
