Won the 1996 ARL Premiership with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and represented New Zealand in the 1991 Rugby World Cup.
His international debut came in a Test against Wales in 1989.
He was unable to play rugby for New Zealand in 1997 due to the New Zealand Rugby League's alignment with Super League, and his club Manly's alignment with the Australian Rugby League.
He married former model and New Zealand's Next Top Model judge, Sara Tetro, in 2001.
He and prop Phil Daley both played for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.
