Celebrity photographer best known for his official work with stars like Kendrick Lamar and Justin Bieber. His photographs have been featured in publications like The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and Interview Magazine and he has worked with brands like Nike and Adidas.
After inheriting his father's photographic equipment which he had used to make short films of neurological activity, he began taking photos of his friends and family with his father's old Nikon. His father eventually taught him to repair old camera equipment.
He previously studied photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and went on to become a visiting professor there. He also became an adjunct professor briefly at Pratt Institute.
His father, Richard, was a physician and professor and his mother, MaryAnn, was a nurse practitioner, both of whom worked at Johns Hopkins University.
In 2011, he created the album artwork for Ryan Adams' album Ashes & Fire.
