Nigerian poet, journalist, and politician who frequently wrote English-language literary works. He published a poetry collection entitled Africa Sings and published many of his individual poems in a newspaper called the West African Pilot.
After working for a time as a Nigerian customs officer, he studied law in England.
In the mid-1940s, he became one of the founders of the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons.
He was born in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria. He died in his hometown at the age of eighty-three.
