About
American former professional basketball player best known for playing as a point guard. After graduating from college, he went undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft; however, after receiving an invitation from the Milwaukee Bucks in the Las Vegas Summer League, he sustained an injury and was removed from the roster. He went on to continue his career playing for international teams such as Bulgaria's PBC Lukoil Academic and Serbia's KK Partizan.
Before Fame
He boasted an exceptional collegiate career while attending Marquette University, beginning as one of the best freshmen in the country and being declared the best freshman scorer in the big east. He finished his college career ranked #2 on Marquette's all-time assists list, along with numerous other records and accolades.
Trivia
Between 2005 and 2006, he was selected as the Big East Rookie of the Week a total of six times. In 2007, he was a Naismith Award Finalist and was one of only sixteen finalists for the Bob Cousy Award.
Family Life
His wife, Angela Phillips Wright, also played basketball collegiately at Kentucky and Indiana State. She also served as his personal trainer. Together, they run a basketball clinic for special needs children called Camp Daniel, a tribute to her late brother. They share two children named Jincy and Jett.
