Musician and keyboardist known for being the pianist for the rock band Deep Purple. He was a member of the influential jazz rock band Colosseum II in the 1970s until he joined the band Rainbow, with whom he released 2 highly successful albums. He's also been a member of rock bands such as Ten and Hollywood Monsters, and he's released several solo albums.
Before Fame
He earned his college degree from the University of Nottingham and a diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music. Shortly after graduating, he created a band and briefly travelled the world working on cruise liners.
