Pastry chef who co-founded the award-winning, San Francisco-based bakery Tartine as well as the ice cream shop Cookies & Cream. She is the author of the pastry cookbook Tartine All Day: Modern Recipes for the Home Cook (2017).
She trained at the Culinary Institute of America in New York and moved to San Francisco in 2002.
She was nominated for the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Pastry Chef for two straight years in 2006 and 2007 before winning the award in 2008.
She married bread baker Chad Robertson, with whom she co-founded Tartine. She has a daughter.
Renowned chef Alice Waters has ordered cakes from her bakery.
