After rising to fame on the ITV talent competition Opportunity Knocks, this British comedian and actor starred on a BBC children's series called The Small World of Samuel Tweet and went on to appear in the comedy movie Funny Bones.
Following his service in the British Army's Pay Corps, he began performing a stand-up comedy act. He attracted many fans and was soon featured on such television programs as The Tom Jones Show and Sunday Night at the London Palladium.
His memoir, Funny Bones: My Life in Comedy, was published in 2014.
He grew up in London, Wiltshire, Devon, and Lancashire, England.
With actor Bill Owen (who famously co-starred with Peter Sallis on the BBC sitcom The Last of the Summer Wine), Davies wrote and recorded a song titled "So Lucky." The single became a major hit in South America, Brazil, and the Philippines.
