Professional surfer who decided to end his career on a high note, abruptly announcing his retirement after earning a perfect ten during a Hurley Pro Tour in 2015. He finished with nearly $1 million in career earnings over his 11 years as a pro.
He first competed in the World Surf League (then called the Association of Surfing Professionals) in 2005 and was named rookie of the year.
His best career finish came in 2008, when he finished the season ranked 12th. He had a small role in the 2002 movie Blue Crush. He rode goofy.
He grew up on the North Shore in Hawaii. He married Melissa Gomez in 2011 and had a daughter that same year.
