Italian professional soccer player who has played for Premier League club, Liverpool FC. In September 2025, he made his debut for the team in a match against Southampton FC. He had previously been a member of Serie A club, Parma Calcio 1913. He has a popular Instagram account giovannileonii, which has garnered 390,000 followers.

Before fame

He began his youth career at Vigontina Calcio. He subsequently moved to Cittadella, and eventually completed his youth development at Padova. 

Trivia

He has played for both the Italy national U18 and U19 teams. He has typically played as a centre-back. On his Instagram account, he has primarily posted pictures that have captured his performance in soccer matches.

Family life

Both of his parents played water polo professionally. His older brother Edoardo has also been a professional water polo player. His adopted brother Mahamadou Diarra has played for Italian basketball club, Petrarca.
