Hamilton Jordan

About

American Democratic politician who served as Chief of Staff under United States President Jimmy Carter. He ran for a seat in the Georgia Senate, but lost to the Republican candidate.

Before Fame

He attended the University of Georgia and studied political science. He was unable to enter military service due to a leg injury; however, he traveled to Vietnam to provide civilian assistance.

Trivia

He worked on the 1992 presidential campaign of Independent candidate Ross Perot.

Family Life

He and his wife Dorothy raised three children and also established summer camp programs for children suffering from severe illnesses.

He was played by American actor Kyle Chandler in the Academy Award-winning film Argo.
