Former IGN editor-in-chief, he is a comic book writer and has worked as a manager at Electronic Arts. He is also the author of Dog and Thimble, a blog, podcast, and video series about board games and other geek culture. He has authored comic books like the Golem and Hoodlum.
He earned his degree in English, creative writing, and journalism from Southwestern College before beginning an internship with IGN in 2001.
He worked as a director of programming, games at Wikia and in game development at When In Rome Studios.
He has lived in Salt Lake City, Utah.
