Television and film actress known for her memorable character roles in projects such as Baskets, City Island, Iron Nest of the Moon, Thelma, and Occupational Hazards. 

Before fame

She began acting professionally in the early 1970s and first appeared onscreen in an episode of the TV series Gunsmoke. She then appeared in two episodes of The Waltons in 1973 and 1974. She continued appearing steadily across television and film throughout the 1970s-2000s and developed a reputation for her memorable supporting performances. She gained renewed attention in 2009 with her role in the independent film City Island. She reached her widest modern recognition in 2016 through her work on FX's Baskets.

She has also worked under the name Ivy DeFelitta. she is also known for her passion for animals and animal rights advocacy. She was part of an ensemble that received a Best Acting Ensemble award for Iron Nest of the Moon. She guest starred on The West Wing in the Season 3 episode "The Black Vera Wang."
