Political philosopher known for being a founding thinker of the neoconservative movement in America. He helped William F. Buckley Jr. found the conservative magazine The National Review in 1955. 

Before Fame

He was appointed as a philosophy professor at New York University in 1929. He was involved in the Trotskyist movement and joined the American Workers Party in 1933. He broke with Trotskyism and Marxism and resigned from the American Workers Party in 1940. 

Trivia

His 1941 book The Managerial Revolution was included in Life Magazine's list for best books between 1924 and 1944.
