Soccer coach who became the head coach of the U.S. women's national soccer team in May 2014 and helped lead the team to gold at the 2015 World Cup. She previously won an Olympic gold medal as an assistant coach with the team in 2008 and was named the NSCAA National Coach of the Year as the head coach of the UCLA Bruins in 2000.
She played forward at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 1987, she was named a Third-Team All-American.
She won six consecutive Pacific-12 Conference titles from 2003 to 2008 during her time at UCLA.
Her father is soccer coaching legend John Ellis. She has been in a relationship with Betsy Stephenson.
She took over as head coach of the U.S. women's national team following the departure of Tom Sermanni.
