Before Fame
She was an announcer for Montgomery Blair High School's basketball team which sparked her interest in sports broadcasting. She also participated in the school's communication arts program. She was also an athlete and competed in the 200- and 400-meter sprints at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ahe earned a gold medal at the AAU Junior Olympics while in college. She graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She then began pursuing internships with radio programs such as The Tony Kornheiser Show and The Donnie Simpson Show in 1997. She joined ESPN as a Chicago-based reporter in 2011. She then became the network's first female National NFL Insider in August 2015.
Trivia
She received a Heartland Emmy Award for her piece A Premonition to Addis Ababa in 2009. She has a background in ballet. She has completed residencies with the Dance Theater of Harlem and Pennsylvania Ballet and has performed as a soloist for the American Youth Ballet.
