Singer who scored hit singles like "Nagisa No Sindbad" and "Monster" as one half of the enormously popular Japanese pop duo Pink Lady in the 1970s. She has continued on as a solo artist well into the new millennium with albums like Love Song (2014).

Before Fame

She was raised in Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture, where she was childhood friends with future Pink Lady bandmate Mitsuyo Nemoto.

Trivia

She gained a cult following in the United States as the co-host of the short-lived variety show Pink Lady.
