About
Jamaican sprinter specializing in the 60 meters and 100 meters. He catapulted to fame when he won the silver medal in the 100 meters at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he finished with a time of 9.79 seconds in a photo finish that designated him as one of the fastest men in Olympic history. He also achieved a silver medal in the 100 meters at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.
Before Fame
He grew up in Jamaica's Clarendon Parish and attended Bustamante High School and Garvey Maceo High School. He went on to receive training from Jamaican runner Neville Myton. Although he was offered a scholarship to from Iowa Western Community College, he declined the opportunity to study abroad so that he could remain close to his family.

At the 2024 Jamaican Olympic trials, he made history when he clocked a world-leading time of 9.77 seconds in the 100 meters, which also set a new national record and secured his place in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
