Kurt Krömer

German comedian, actor, and author most widely recognized for his portrayal of Kurt Krömer on the television series Chez Krömer. He has also appeared in films such as Wo is Fred?, Familie Sonnenfeld, Ein starkes Team, and Life is Too Long. He has openly shared his battle with clinical depression with audiences and published a book called You Must Not Believe Everything You Think: My Depression.

Before Fame

He grew up in the working-class neighborhoods of Neukölln and Wedding in West Berlin. He found work in a variety of roles such as a men's outfitter and cleaning before making his first tage appearance as Kurt Krömer, a character inspired by his former German teacher, in 1992.

Trivia

Among his numerous career accolades, he received a German Comedy Award for Best Newcomer in 2005. He has also received several Grimme-Preis and Deutscher Fernsehpreis Awards.

Family Life

His real name is Alexander Bojcan. He is a single father to four children.

Associated With

In 2022, he provided the German dub for the character Mr. Snake, a role originally voiced by comedian and actor Marc Maron, in the animated comedy film The Bad Guys.
