Before Fame

He played as a 5' 9' point guard at Long Beach High School, and then played at the University of North Carolina under coaches Frank McGuire and Dean Smith.


He became the first coach to ever win both an NCAA and NBA Championship.

Family Life

He married Shelly Brown in 1993 and he has three daughters, Madison, Alli and Kristen, and a son, L.J. His parents were Ann and Milton Brown. After his father's death, his mother kept his passing a secret for a whole month.
