Known best as the host and disc jockey of the Irish Raidio Teilifis Eireann (RTE) program The Golden Hour, this popular radio and television personality was awarded the 2007 Industry Award at the Meteor Awards ceremony for his dedication to the discovery and promotion of new music and musicians.
He began his radio career shortly after graduating from high school, working for RTE Radio 1 before becoming a founding host of RTE Radio 2.
He famously presented the entertaining "Just a Minute Quiz" segment on his radio talk show.
He grew up in Dublin, Ireland, as the son of a newspaper owner. He later married Florrie Gogan, with whom he subsequently raised five children.
In 2009, he interviewed U2 drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. on his television talk show The Golden Hour.
