Saxophonist and songwriter for Madness, a second-wave ska band known for their single "Our House," as well as "House of Fun" and "Uncle Sam."
He started Madness in 1976 and wrote their first single, "The Prince."
He played saxophone at the closing ceremony for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
He married Debbie Fordham and has raised three children with her.
He and Daniel Woodgate have both been members of Madness.
