One half of the musical duo Ibeyi which has become known for singing in both English and Yoruba. The pair released their debut self-titled album in 2015 and has become popular for singles like "River" and "Stranger / Lover."
She and her sister grew up studying Yoruba folk songs and she would later delve into songwriting.
Ibeyi appeared in the film for Beyonce's 2016 album Lemonade.
Her father, Anga Díaz, was a renowned Cuban percussionist. Her mother, Maya Dagnino, is a French-Venezuelan singer and has worked as Ibeyi's manager. Her twin sister, Naomi Diaz, is the other member of Ibeyi. They had an older sister who passed away in 2013.
During live shows, Ibeyi has covered the Jay Electronica single "Better in Tune with the Infinite."
