Popular Peruvian singer who has recorded more than 30 albums, many of which have gone Gold and Platinum, during her long and illustrious career. To international audiences, she is perhaps known for her Spanish-language rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart."
She was born in Lima and recorded her first song "El Ratoncito Miguel" at age 5. She was sent to live in the United States as a result of Operation Peter Pan at age 14.
She is a known humanitarian, having received a UNICEF award for her work with children.
Her full name is Lissette Alvarez Chorens. She has been married to singers Chucho Avellanet and Willy Chirino.
