Chilean footballer who is best known for playing for Al Arabi as an attacking midfielder. He was also a member of the Chilean national team, where he scored 2 goals in 26 appearances and played at the Copa América in both 2004 and 2011.
With an interest in the sport at a young age, he played youth football for Palestino in Chile, a club mostly made up of players of Palestinian descent. He eventually gained Palestinian citizenship in June 2013. He started his Italian footballing career in 2002 at Ternana Calcio.
In a match against Venezuela, he scored his first international goal at the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He married model Coté López and together they have four children: Rebeca, Isidora, Rafaela, and Jesús. He also has another son from a previous relationship named Diego.
