British Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and author known professionally as Makayla Superstar and known for songs including "Just Dance," "Grandma Told Me," "Give Me Food," "African Princess," "Yes O," and "Not Likely." She is also known for releasing six studio albums between 2020 and 2025 including Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, and Once Upon a Rhyme.

Before fame

Her interest in music began when she was 4 years old after she first encountered Michael Jackson's music. She began recording when she was 6 years old and released her first single "Just Dance" when she was 7 years old in 2019. She released her debut album Eight on her eighth birthday in 2020.

She co-wrote the children's book The African Princess with Sope Martins in 2022. She won Eko Celebrity Kid of the Year in 2022. She was recognized among the Global Child Prodigy Awards' Top 100 child prodigies in 2025.

Family life

Her full name is Makayla Oghenefejiro Oluwayimika Malaka. She is an only child, and her father Emmanuel Malaka supported her early music career.
