Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, she graduated from Mesa College and went on to study at the University of Colorado.
In 1973, she published The Brain Revolution: The Frontiers of Mind Research, a novel that discusses the vast potential of the human brain.
With her second husband, she had three children: Eric, Kristin, and Lynn.
She and Mother Teresa both spoke at the 1985 United Nations Spirit of Peace Conference.
