Micah McLaurin

About

American pianist who has been hailed by media publications including WWD, Paper Magazine, and Pluton Magazine. He has performed alongside renowned symphonies and orchestras around the world at events including The Miami International Piano Festival and Les Pianissimes in Paris, France. He has collaborated with numerous respected musicians throughout his career and released several albums, including "Micah McLaurin Live" and his 2021 studio album, "Chopin." He also released a debut LP titled "Diamonds," which featured instrumental covers supported by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Before Fame

He began playing the piano when he was just 8 years old. He attended the Curtis Institute of Music, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He later went on to earn his master's degree from the Juilliard School.

Trivia

Among his many career accolades, he was declared the winner of the 2016 Gilmore Young Artist Award, given biennially to the top two pianists in the country. He has also received honors in the Ettlingen International Competition, the 2011 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and the Verbier Festival Tabor Prize.

Family Life

He is the third of seven children born to parents David and Karen. His siblings include four sisters and two brothers.
