Before Fame

He had a violent criminal record long before national notoriety. He was convicted of the attempted murder of his teenage girlfriend and grievous bodily harm against her mother when he was 21 years old and he served a seven-year prison sentence. He returned to public attention in the mid-2000s when he demanded a larger council house to accommodate his wife, his live-in mistress, and many children. He set a fire at his family's home on Victory Road in Derby which six of his children, Duwayne, Jade, John, Jack, Jesse, and Jayden.

Trivia

He and his wife Mairead held an emotional press conference appealing for information days after the fire that killed their children, and the footage later became infamous once prosecutors argued the fire was started deliberately as part of a plan to frame a former partner.
