NBA head coach who led the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005 to 2010 and again during the 2013-14 season. He coached them to the NBA Finals in 2007, behind the play of the legendary LeBron James. He became an assistant coach of the Golden State Warriors in 2016.
He played college basketball at Mesa Community College and the University of San Diego; he made his coaching debut as an assistant with the Washington Wizards in 1997.
He was an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs when the team won the NBA Championship in 2003; he was named NBA Coach of the Year with the Cavaliers in 2009.
He met his wife, Carolyn, at a Denver bar. They have two sons named Elijah and Cameron.
