Sportswriter, lawyer, television commentator, author, and radio host. He is best known for his appearances on Football Night in America and Sunday Night Football digital postgame show. His book Playmakers: How the NFL Really Works (And Doesn't), was published in 2022. 

Before Fame

He is from Wheeling, West Virginia. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and from West Virginia University's law school. He began sportswriting in 2000. He practiced as a lawyer for 18 years. 

Trivia

He appears during the halftime of University of Notre Dame football games to discuss NFL topics on the NBC network. He created and owns Profootballtalk.com. He regularly does segments with former NFL quarterback Chris Simms. The two discuss the latest headlines in the NFL.

He married Jill Florio and they have a son named Alex.
