Woman best known for being the first wife of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, whom she married in 1948. The two were divorced in 1955 while Castro was in exile, after which she moved to Spain to live with her family.

She was a student at the University of Havana in Cuba when she met her future husband.

Trivia

Her only child with Castro, Fidel Jr., was kidnapped by his father during a visit to Mexico .

Family Life

Following her divorce from Castro, she got remarried to Emilio Nunez Blanco. She had three children.
