He began fencing when he was in 3rd grade and gravitated toward sabre. He emerged as a top American junior sabre in 2018-2019. He enrolled at Harvard in 2019 where he studied economics and joined the Crimson men's fencing team. He won the Ivy League individual sabre championship as a freshman in 2020. He won his second Ivy League sabre title in 2022.
