Dancer, actor, and singer best known for his performance as Michael Jackson in the Broadway production of MJ the Musical. His portrayal earned him the 2022 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical as well as a Grammy Award nomination for the cast recording. Before Fame

He studied music technology at Belmont University and audio engineering at Bowie State University. However, his college career was cut short when he earned the role of Michael Jackson in MJ the Musical. He initially gained the attention of the production team when they came across a video of him performing "Billie Jean" in a high school talent show on YouTube and invited him to audition for the role.

Trivia

He tried out for the TV singing competition show The Voice in 2017 while still attending high school, however, he did not advance past the initial televised audition.

Family Life

He is the son of mother Charmayne Strayhorn, who was a systems engineer. His grandmother was a school teacher.

In 2022, he appeared in a friendly dance-off with Stephen Boss aka "Twitch" on The Today Show hosted by Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. He also appears side-by-side with Madonna in an August 2022 Instagram post in which she shares praise for his performance in MJ the Musical.
