About
Ghanaian breakdancer, choreographer, and cultural entrepreneur professionally known as Bboy Lyricx and known for being the founder of Africa Breaking Academy and for being a pioneer of AfroBreak which is a dance style blending African dance with breaking. He is especially known for representing Ghana on international breaking stages, for having traveled to over 35 countries as a performer, judge, and workshop facilitator, and for his Instagram account where he shares dance content, performances, and cultural projects.
Before fame
He pursued higher education at the University for Development Studies where he earned a degree in integrated business studies (management). He began his dance journey in local communities and built his skills through local battles and performances. He began sharing breakdancing content on YouTube in 2012. He had started appearing in international breaking competitions in 2019 including events in Burkina Faso and Niger. He then founded Africa Breaking Academy.
Trivia
He won Best Bboy in Ghana at the Dance Ghana Awards in 2021. He helped organize the Afrobreak International Championship in 2022 which was the first major international breakdance competition in Ghana. He has served as a judge at Red Bull BC One Nigeria in 2021. He gained international recognition through the Future Leaders Invitation Program on Sports and Diplomacy which led to his induction into the Hall of Fame at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He co-directed the documentary Roots of the Culture in 2025 which explores the rise of AfroBreak and hip-hop culture in Ghana.
Family life
He was born in Offinso, Ashanti Region, Ghana, before being raised in Accra, Ghana.
