Formerly known as Ace Primo, he is an independent hip hop artist and songwriter with popular songs such as "Something Changed About You" and "Truth Is."
He began posting his music to MySpace in 2005, which helped him garner the attention of producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins.
He switched from using a stage name, Ace Primo, to performing under his real name because he wanted to leave a legacy that would be tied to his real self.
He was born in Washington, DC but later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. He has a brother named Sean. In 2018, he began dating singer Keyshia Cole, they have a child.
He was featured on fellow musician Nelly Furtado's fifth album, The Spirit Indestructible.
