Swimmer who won a gold medal swimming butterfly for a relay race at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
He was a star swimmer at Bellarmine College Preparatory and Stanford University.
In addition to his gold medal in the relay, he also won two silver medals in individual butterfly races at the 1984 Olympics.
After his career was over, he married Viviana Morales, and had three children with her.
He once set the world record for 100-meter butterfly, which was previously held by Mark Spitz.
