Spanish classical guitarist and cultural ambassador known for being a Sony Classical artist, for appearing with top orchestras and conductors including the New York Philharmonic, and for the albums Volver, Soul of Spanish Guitar, The Blue Album, Americano, Histoire du Tango, and Guitar Recital.
Before Fame
He began playing and studying the guitar in his hometown before advanced training in Madrid, Weimar, and then New York at the Manhattan School of Music. He won the Andrés Segovia Award when he was 15 years old. He released his debut album Guitar Recital in 2004.
Trivia
He won 1st Prize at the Francisco Tárrega Competition in 2003. He won the Gold Medal at the Christopher Parkening International Guitar Competition in 2006. He founded the philanthropic project The Legacy of Music Without Borders in 2006. He has also led the nonprofit Strings in Common and served as artistic director of the La Rioja Festival.
Family Life
He was born and raised in Logroño, La Rioja, Spain and relocated to New York City in 2001 to pursue his music career.
