Known best for her roles in the 1980s Bollywood movies Prem Rog and Insaaf Ka Tarazu, this popular Indian actress received Filmfare Awards in both 1980 and 1982. Later in her career, she played the role of Pallavi Modi in the television series Ekk Nayi Pehchaan.

Before Fame

During her childhood years, she sang in several Bollywood films, including Dushman Dost and Yaadon Ki Baaraat.

Trivia

Early in her career, she appeared in director Raj Kapoor's late 1970s movie Satyam Shivam Sundaram.

Family Life

One of her sisters, Tejaswini Kolhapure, also had a career as an actress and model; her father, Pandharinath Kolhapure, was a successful Indian classical singer. Her marriage to Pradeep Sharma resulted in a son named Priyank.

Her sister Shivangi married Bollywood star Shakti Kapoor.
