Paul Brady

About

Notable for his work in the Irish folk, pop, and political rock genres, he is perhaps most well known for his singles "The Island," "Crazy Dreams," "Steel Claw," and "Nothing but the Same Old Story," as well as for his Irish folk album Welcome Here Kind Stranger (1978) and his rock album True For You (1983).

Before Fame

Early in his career, he performed with the Irish bands The Johnstons and Planxty.

Trivia

In the mid 1970s, he and Irish folk musician Andy Irvine launched a music duo and recorded the critically acclaimed album Andy Irvine/Paul Brady.

Family Life

The son of music teacher Sean Brady, he spent his youth in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, and later lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland.
