Before Fame

She started as a child actress in the Philippines under the screen name Pia Romero. She began acting when she was four years old. She appeared in TV shows and films throughout the 2000s. She studied culinary arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies. Her big break was being crowned Miss Universe 2015 after competing for the title twice before.

She is the author of the 2023 book Queen of the Universe. She speaks English, Tagalog, Cebuano, and conversational German. She became a UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2017. She was recognized in the style world as Global Fashion Influencer of the Year at Dubai's EMIGALA Awards in 2024.
