Canadian actor who is known for his roles in both television and in feature films. He is most recognized for his role as Frank in the 2009 feature film Chloe. He is also known for his recurring role as both Jasper and Jeremiah Dale in the 1996 series Avonlea.
He studied acting at the University of Toronto and the National Theatre School. His feature film debut occurred in 1979 in the film L'Homme en Colere. His debut in television came the same year when he starred in the television production of An American Christmas Carol.
He has won several awards for his acting including the Gemini Award in 1989 for his role in Glory Enough for All. He is also known for having won the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement in Theater and Production in 2015.
He married Laurie Matheson and together they have two children, Macintosh and Andrew.
