Former race car driver who was named 1986 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year.
He was born in Virginia, but his family moved to South Florida when he was 14 years old.
Midway through his racing career, he became the subject of a drug trafficking investigation from the FBI. He was convicted of importing and selling over 300 tons of marijuana and received a life without parole sentence on October 4th, 1988.
He raised a daughter named Brandie and a son named Glen.
One of his drug trafficking partners who also received life without parole was Ben Kramer, a nephew of Meyer Lansky, one of the right hand men of LA's former drug kingpin Mickey Cohen.
