NHL general manager who served as the architect of the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2006 to 2014, winning a Stanley Cup in 2009. He joined the New Jersey Devils in the same capacity in 2015.

Before Fame

He started his management career in 1993 as an assistant with the Ottawa Senators. He joined the expansion Nashville Predators in 1998.

Trivia

As a hockey player, he was drafted 216th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 1982. He went on to play at St. Lawrence University, but didn't pursue a professional career.

Family Life

His father, Fred Shero, was both and NHL player and coach and became a member of the Hall of Fame in 2013.
