Republican politician who became the U.S. Representative for Florida's 11th congressional district in 2013 after previously serving the 5th district.
He earned a Master of Arts Degree from Troy State University before graduating from the FBI National Academy in 1991.
He was elected Sheriff of Hernando County in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004 and 2008.
He has three sons with his wife, Wendy. They are Methodists.
He is a member of the Tea Party Caucus with Tom McClintock.
